The University of Toronto and Asian Canadian Writers Workshop are planning a new literary event in Toronto as an extension of the existing Vancouver LiterASIAN Festival. The theme of Toronto's LiterASIAN 2018 is 'Literary Activism' in which we will examine the history, cultural influence, and outcomes of Asian Canadian writers involved in changing the society through their work.

The event will feature two panels discussing the past, present, and future of literary activism along with two food receptions. Honoured guests for our event include Joy Kogawa, Cheuk Kwan, Lynne Kutsukake, Kai Cheng Thom and Shani Mootoo. We look forward to their lively discussions and sharing of ideas.
