Canadian Storytelling Day in Pickering

Pickering Public Library

One the Esplanade, Pickering, Ontario

Prepare to immerse yourself and dip your toes into stories with the theme of water! 2018 Canadian Storytelling Day’s theme is the Running Deep: The Power of Water with all stories reflecting that theme.

Canadian Storytelling Day is an ever-growing event, where Canadian stories are shared. It is held annually during the first week of November, which is a wonderful time of year to gather when the nights grow longer and colder.

Come out to listen to the age-old art of oral storytelling. Storytellers tell without books or notes, and are considered part of the performing arts. Their stories can be sourced from myths, legends, folktales, fairy tales, personal and family stories, or historical accounts.

Note: Canadian Storytelling Day is a companion event to World Storytelling Day in March.
