ExPo Soc #10

  • 12 Kensington Avenue Toronto, ON, M5T 2J7 Canada (map)

Last Temptation

It's October, and not only is Halloween around the corner, but another ExPo Soc is imminent with another lineup of powerhouse poets:

TERRY TROWBRIDGE is from Beamsville, Ontario. His essays, poetry, short stories and book reviews have appeared in over 60 journals, magazines, zines, and chapbooks. He cannot play a musical instrument. He has not completed a console video game without the word "Kart" in the title. He did not progress beyond Green in his Red Cross swimming lessons. The one time he performed on stage at Second City, he wasn't doing comedy, but people laughed anyhow. He goes to karaoke but does not sing. He once went to a dance club; he left half an hour later. Terry's Erdős number is 5.

PAUL EDWARD COSTA is a writer, spoken word artist, teacher, and the 2019-2021 Poet Laureate for the City of Mississauga. He has featured at many poetry reading series in the GTA and has published over 60 poems, stories, and articles in literary journals such as Bewildering Stories, Lucent Dreaming Magazine, Entropy Magazine, POST-, and the Gyroscope Review. His novella, "Dark Magic on the Edge of Town", was put out in 2017 with the hybrid publisher Paperback-Press and his first full length book of poetry "The Long Train of Chaos" will be released soon by Kung Fu Treachery Press. He curates/hosts the YTGA Open Mic Series at Studio.89, has co-organized/hosted the Mississauga Arts Council’s Verses Out Loud Poetry Series, and has won the Mississauga Arts Council's 2019 MARTY Award for Emerging Literary Arts.

As always, open mic will be available to all those crazy and brave enough to strut their stuff for the public. So come on out, spread the word, and we hope to see you there.
